Teamwork Through CommunicationChrysalis Systems has pioneered Body Centered Learning BCL through its advanced game and seminar BUILDING BRIDGES TO BETTER COMMUNICATION. One part game the other part seminar, BUILDING BRIDGES TO BETTER COMMUNICATION covers our Eight Pillars of Communication as the technology for creating greater teamwork through effective communication. These Eight Pillars are: clearly stated INTENTIONS, individual and team RESPONSIBILITY, INTEGRITY, good LISTENING skills, effective LANGUAGE, powerful LEADERSHIP, committed SUPPORT and effective SERVICE. In the BUILDING BRIDGES TO BETTER COMMUNICATION course there are two games employed that interactively teach the Eight Pillars. Musical Colors is a game of movement, listening, teamwork, music, and fun, where participants choose team leaders and team leaders alternatively must take responsibility for hearing directions and must move their teams to appropriate color stations in the room. Musical Colors is a fun and exciting way for employees to see beyond their all-to-familiar stereotypes of each other and create new roles and new images of the team. The Puzzle Exercise is the second game where a group of participants are paired up back-to-back, while another group of participants are designated as observers. One partner receives a complete puzzle, the other the puzzle pieces. The Puzzle Exercise offers participants a clear look into how ineffective communication can lead to jobs being incomplete. Observers are able to joyfully experience the pitfalls of communicators who try desperately to understand each other without the effort of seeing the same picture. BUILDING BRIDGES TO BETTER COMMUNICATION is an excellent one-day retreat course that can be conducted on or off site. The course is the perfect ice-breaker for a series of planning meetings and conferences, and is also a fun course for elementary, intermediate and high school students.
